photo update
It's been a long time since my last entry. If I updated everything properly, we'd be here until Monday. Instead, here's a photo update with short(er) captions...
The Trevor likes bath time and splashes a lot.
I've been thinking more on the cross lately... doing a personal inventory of sorts. God's been good and has taught me a lot. I could literally write pages and pages about that, so ask me in person to save us all some time. Part of what I'm learning lately is to use everyday things to remind me of Christ. Not a new concept to me, but one that I'm more actively pursuing... doing whatever it takes to focus on Christ throughout the day. Such active thinking is really the key to worship (which gives away my entire philosophy for the promised worship paper). Music doesn't have to have lyrics or even be composed for the purpose of glorifying God for it to bring glory to God. But that's really a different subject...
In light of these musings, the Hammock CD has been very important to me, drawing me to the feet of my Savior.
I determined to never get a tattoo that was meaningless. This represents the cat of nine tails, which was the type of whip used on Christ during his trial. In some small way, it's a reminder of the sacrifice (physical but mostly spiritual) that dealt with my sin and justified me before Holy God. Just something I've been thinking about lately. This is not a new tattoo... it's about 6 years old. I've just been appreciating it again lately.
I've been studying these... Ephesians for family devotions, the Old Testament during my lunchtimes at work, and the cross whenever I can.
After 2.5 years, we got new phones. Free. Sorry for the bad picture. I took it in the closet.
2 weeks ago we hit up some garage sales hoping to find a lamp and bookshelf for the Trevor's bedroom. I could take pictures of the bookshelf we got ($5), but that's boring compared to the two LPs I found for $0.50 each. If you know who the first band is, you're... um... you're either old or a guitar player, I guess. Or maybe both... (like me)
This one speaks for itself. It was their best album, in my opinion, and the vinyl was virtually scratch-free.
Amy sent us some goodies from Deutschland.
I got up early (5 am) once to go running. Maybe I'll do that again tomorrow. I really should. I promised myself I wouldn't be another marriage casualty (gaining lots of weight after tying the knot) and lo and behold, that's exactly what happened to me.
